Summer Embodiment Series

When
July 17
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

You are invited to an 8-week, summer embodiment series on Wednesday evenings July 10th-August 28th, from 7-7:50pm, in the Fellowship Hall following the Midweek Contemplative service. All agility levels are welcome (encouraged) & modifications will be offered as needed.

Our aim is to connect our foundational teachings of contemplation and the Work of Inner Christianity, in the body, as Christ. Each session is intended to be relaxing, balancing body/mind/spirit (3 Centers), and integrating focused breathing and moving meditation into daily life. Our facilitators will be utilizing a variety of practices including yoga, Tai Chi, breath and sensation practices, and restorative postures. Facilitators are Rey Cardenas, Sharon Johnson and Scott Taylor.

Rey Cardenas is Founder/Teacher/Trainer at “Practice Yoga Austin”. His parents brought him to CCH when he was a child. Now, Rey has children in the YES program. He is currently in the 1st year of a 3.5 year process of getting certified as a Yoga Therapist.

Sharon Johnson is owner of “3Centered Yoga & Bodywork” Austin studio. Sharon has been in the CCH community since 1997.  Yoga, dance & movements have been her calling for her entire life. Sharon is inspired to serve, share, and apply sacred esoteric teachings into the body mind with reverence.

Scott Taylor is an enthusiastic CCH member, children’s Godly Play teacher for 12 years, and long-standing Glorious Impossible participant. He has practiced Ip Seon temple-style Tai Chi and Qi Gong for 25 years, and a certified instructor for 20 years.  Scott starts and ends with the same routines, for all to benefit from repetition. In between are various stretching, breathing, Qi Gong, and Ip Seon forms, with traditional format and etiquette.

Cost is $80 for the 8 class offering and each class will be led by one of the facilitators.
