Five Choices: Living A More Conscious Life in this New Year

The new year often brings new intentions, new opportunities and sometimes new challenges.  With that in mind, please join us starting January 14th as we explore five spiritual principles that can help us live a more consciously chosen life – as individuals, families, and as a spiritual community.

One-Day Centering Prayer Retreat – February 17th 8:30am-4:30pm
Cost is $15.  This year we are asking that you pre-register for the One-Day retreats.  It really helps the staff with planning.  It’s a potluck lunch, so bring a dish to share.

Two-Day Commuter Centering Prayer Retreat – Sun. Feb. 18th & Mon. Feb. 19th
Cost is $100.  Please pre-register in the office or call 512.347.9673.  You can combine this retreat with the One-Day retreat on Saturday for a Three-Day retreat experience. 

Introduction to Centering Prayer Course – Saturday, March 10th 8:30am-3:15pm

Cost is $75.  Please pre-register in the office or call 512.347.9673.  The class will meet on Saturday, and then for (6) consecutive Monday evenings at 7:30-9:00pm.  This is a 7-week course in forming a Centering Prayer practice.

We will explore key themes in the Christian Mystical and Contemplative Traditions (such as: love, spiritual practices, purity of heart, contemplation, spiritual gifts, dealing with temptations, the Beatific Vision, and the Unitive state, etc.), and key contemplative mystics and contemplatives (such as: St. Augustine, St. John of the Cross, Thomas Merton, and Bernadette Roberts, etc.). No prerequisites or prior study required; just a willingness to listen, share, learn and grow. Participants will be introduced to foundational tools and resources within the tradition for further personal study, all with a view to deepening Knowledge and Being. Drop-in’s welcome.
